development. ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
SATO Asia Pacific
Pte. Ltd. pledge to protect our Environment by continually
setting realistic goals to improve the surroundings in which we
operate and to comply with all relevant legal and other requirements
stipulated by the Company. To pursue the above, the Management shall
set and review guidelines and objectives through all our activities, products and services by:
- Handling all chemicals with care and ensure that
disposal and emission of substances are properly monitored to
reduce the impacts of our operations on the Environment
- Conserving Energy & Minimise Use of Resources
- Reducing Production Wastage
- Preventing Pollution
- Making information available to the Public
The Management shall communicate such
objectives to every staff and get their commitment to working as
a team towards providing the public positive externalities and a
better place to live in.
OBJECTIVES
- REDUCE Customer Complaints by 5% - Total
Complaints not to exceed 42
- Improve Customer Satisfaction - Target :
Grade A - 20%; Grade B - 50%
- Software Programming - Not more than 2 revisions
- Printer Repair (from Overseas) - 90% of printers return
within 2 weeks
- Achieve completion: 95% of monthly Preventive
Maintenance
- REDUCE Production Wastage - 13.5% (Blank
Jobs); to 15.5% (Colour Jobs)

ENVIRONMENTAL GUIDELINES FOR VENDORS/ CONTRACTORS

Purpose
To provide environmental control guidelines to vendors/contractors
on their activities, products and services supplied to SATO
Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (SAP).

Scope
The guidelines cover:
-
supply of chemicals for use directly or
indirectly in the service provision of ; and
-
provision of services to SAP
Guidelines
-
Chemical Control
Chemicals cover organic or inorganic, toxic and hazardous
substances. As such they include, for example lubricants,
oil, gases, cleaning agents, paint and ink.
- Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
of chemicals supplied or used must be submitted to SAP.
- Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS)
are not allowed to be supplied and transported into
the premises of, and used in any work or services.
- Vendors/contractors are not allowed
to dispose or store, unused or waste chemicals and/or
their containers, within SAP premises after completing
the services they have been engaged for.
- Chemicals must be clearly labelled
with the necessary information on the containers at
all times.
- Chemicals must be stored in proper
containers to prevent leakage and spillage.
- Lids of chemical containers must
be tightly closed to prevent leakage.
- Vendors/contractors must ensure that
adequate and appropriate personal protective equipment
(PPE), spillage/leakage containment kits and other emergency
equipment e.g. fire extinguisher and first aid kit are
available at all times.
- Vendors/contractors must ensure that
the chemicals are safely secured during transportation
to and from SAP to prevent leakage and spillage.
- Vendors/contractors must inform SAP
personnel immediately when any chemical spillage/leakage
or other forms of emergency incidents happen.
- Chemicals must be properly and safely
handled to prevent accidental drop or overturning during
transportation, loading/unloading, and movement within
SAP.
- Vendors/contractors shall provide
adequate and appropriate material handling equipment
to handle chemicals.
- All loading/unloading of chemicals
are to be performed at designated loading/unloading
areas of SAP.
- Chemical or any form of waste handling
must adhere to the guidelines set by the Ministry of
the Environment.

All costs incurred by SAP in the
disposal of wastes, handling of spillage/leakage or
other forms of incidents caused by the vendors/contractors
shall be borne by the vendors/contractors.

General Control
-
All vendors/contractors or their authorized
agents are required to read and abide by these rules.
-
Vehicles must not be left with the engine
running during loading/unloading activities or when
unattended in SAP premises, unless authorized.
-
Vendors/contractors or their appointed
agents that service SAP should maintain their vehicles
in good condition at all times to prevent any harm to
the environment due to poor condition of the vehicles.

Vendors/contractors must inform SAP
personnel if oil leak occurs from the vehicles, equipment
or any machinery used at SAP, and thereafter must perform
the necessary corrective actions to contain the leak.

Vendors/contractors shall be provided,
on their own, with PPE during the execution of any work
within SAP, where required.

Vendors/contractors are to ensure control
of noise emission within the allowable noise tolerance
(<85dBA) and the noise source shall be placed away
from employees of SAP. Should the noise level exceed
the allowable tolerance, the noise source has to be
located away from the premises.

Vendors/contractors are required to
control dust emission by means of wetting and/or extraction
by use of local exhaust ventilation (LEV).

Smoking is strictly prohibited within
SAP premises.

Vendors/contractors must always adhere
to the safety signs or notices in SAP.
-
Vendors/contractors are to report immediately
to the employees of SAP or the security guard post if
there is any accident.
