Success Story in France

A large home furnishings company with 180 stores throughout Europe was previously using a competitor's product to print labels with an EAN barcode, product description and price.

Previously, this French company had printed out 31mm x 24mm labels one at a time. This was until a SATO Business Partner came up with the idea of using the SATO CL 608e printer which has a wide enough web to print 4 of these labels simultaneously. Based on the fact that label production would now be 4 times as fast as before, the company instantly procured the CL 608e printer.

This purchase however was only the start of relations between this flourishing firm and the SATO Business Partner. 12 months later, the company chose SATO again. Basing their decision on value for money and quality of print, they purchased 180 units of the SATO CX200 printer to put in each of their stores in Europe. The CX200 Series was used to print 3 labels at a time, each showing the prices in €uros and the local currency.

In November last year, the company decided to go a step further and stop all labelling in the warehouse. Instead labelling was only to be carried out in the stores, being driven from a host computer in the headquarters, from where they would receive files, corresponding to the deliveries they received.

In order to meet this new requirement the company purchased 70 more printers. Despite bids being put forward by competitor printer manufacturers, the company chose yet another SATO printer to do the job. This time they selected the SATO CT 400, based on its small size, suitable for instore use, and its comparitively fast printing speed of 150mm per second.

Plans are now underway to purchase more CT 400 printers in the near future, as the company expands.
