SINGAPORE - November 6, 2002
Barcode
SATO, a leader in barcode printing since introducing the first thermal
transfer barcode printer in 1979, today announced the release of
the new M-84Pro Series direct thermal/thermal transfer printers.
The M-84Pro is part of the PRO series which features printers for
heavy-duty industrial needs. It is also an upgraded version of the
current M-8400RVe and is a new generation of high-resolution printers
that print images with a resolution of up to 609 dots per inch (dpi).
The 305dpi version is also an excellent replacement for the M-8450
with its higher throughput speed.
SATO's new M-84Pro Series with the 32-Bit high-speed RISC/133 Mhz processor for maximum throughput can print large amounts of labels with barcode, text and fine detailed graphics with sharp and precise print image in addition to smaller size 2-D codes such as Micro PDF417, Micro QR, etc. It also has the ability to easily and efficiently produce labels direct from software such as WORD, EXCEL, and ACCESS and also from the label design software such as the newly launched SATO Label Gallery.
With a full 18 MB of standard, on-board memory, these printers provide enough memory, for most applications, to store multiple fonts and graphics without the need for optional memory. For extreme memory requirement applications, an optional 4 MB of Flash memory (internal) or an additional 16 MB of PCMCIA memory card is available.
The M84PRO also features an "automatic detection system" that helps you to identify which printhead is being installed in the printer, which in turn, helps to accomplish print resolution selection easily: 203 dpi, 305 dpi or 609 dpi. Additional standard features include the choice of plug-in interface modules: serial (RS232C), parallel (IEEE 1284) or USB, barcode symbologies including 2-D and a variety of human readable fonts including downloaded TrueType® fonts (scalable from 8 to 72 points).
Optional interface modules include wireless (802.11b) and Ethernet (10/100Base T) and both include WPC Plus (Web-based Printer Control PLUS), SATO's new tool for controlling SATO thermal transfer barcode printers via any web-enabled wired or wireless device.
The new M-84Pro Series printers from SATO are fast, versatile, dependable and cost effective for today's demanding labelling applications.
