SINGAPORE - March 1, 2005
SATO, a leader in barcode printing since introducing the first thermal transfer barcode printer and the industry's first complete multi-protocol EPC-compliant RFID solutions, announced today the acquisition of one of its biggest and longest reseller to merge its activities in France.
The new company will be called SATO France s.a. (SFS). It will base its main operations in Lille, and its sales headquarters in Paris.
L'Etiquetage Rationnel has been a distinguished reseller of the complete SATO product range in the French market for the past 27 years. "The decision for the acquisition is to create greater value for our customers in the French market. L'Etiquetage Rationnel has done a fantastic job in France over the years, building SATO as one of the top brands in this market. By joining together, we aim to bring SATO closer to our customers in France, allowing us to understand their unique needs and the market conditions. This is also especially important during this current technology phase of RFID," said Mr. T. Waki, Managing Director, SATO International.
The founder and owner of L'Etiquetage Rationnel Mr Jean-Pierre Ampen enthused: I am delighted with this opportunity of merging our operation and sales activities. SATO, being one of the leading AIDC providers in this industry, has both the technical expertise and sales support needed to succeed in this market. This, of course, translates to greater customer benefits."
Mr. Jean-Pierre Ampen is staying on as a strategic consultant to the new company while Mr. Patrick Frimat, Managing Director of SATO Europe, will be SATO France s.a. as a Director-General.
Mr Waki added, "We greatly treasure the expertise and contributions of L'Etiquetage Rationnels existing 40-odd employees. SATO has already invited these staff to continue their service with the new company, taking on these new challenges and growing together with SATO. With an aggressive growth strategy in the pipeline, SATO also foresees further expansion and more job creations in the near future for our French office."
SATO France s.a. has been in operations since February 17. For more information, kindly contact SATO Internationals marketing section at marketing@satoasiapacific.com.
