Ms Daphne Tay appointed as Executive Officer of SATO Corp

September 01, 2006 - SATO Corporation is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Daphne Tay as Executive Officer.

Daphne Tay's career started in 1987 at SATO Mechatronics (S) Pte Ltd, now known as SAP. She has worked in positions of increasing responsibility, and was justly appointed as Director of SAP in 2003 and later Director of SI in 2004 after being at the forefront of much of the successful business expansion of SAP. She brings a wealth of experience in consumables and label production management. Daphne thus becomes the first non-Japanese and only one of the first two women to be appointed as Executive Officers of SATO corporation.

She will continue in her present roles as she assumes her new executive responsibilities following the appointment.

Key Achievements

Setting up of GMCs
Assisted in the setting up and successful running of GMCs as part of the business expansion of SAP, namely, SMS/SAM (in 1996/2004), STC (from Representative Office to Sales Office in 1996/2001) and SSC (in 2002).

Seal/Label Production
Based on Japan's basic Production Management (Wariin & Kenin system), established SAP Seal/Label Production Floor Management System in 1996.

Actively participated in the planning and design of our enterprise Production Module (for ORACLE), currently used in SAP and that will be implemented throughout the rest of the GMCs.

CKP Integration
Led and actively participated in the CKP Integration, from external communications, to spreading and helping understand the Spirit of SATO, to managing staff recruitment and all related transition. Recently named a member of the European Management Committee, and in-charge of Production, and assisting in ORACLE's roll-out planning and implementation.
